What’s up, guys? It’s been a while since I last did this. I could honestly make a WIP about making a WIP, because it takes some time which isn’t ideal. These are supposed to be quick so I don’t waste time on things that aren’t the main focus, like the pages and illustrations. So, I have to switch things up.
Let’s see… What if we don’t call it a WIP (Work In Progress) but a BTS (Behind The Scenes) instead?
Instead of showing this stuff while I’m working on it, I could share it at the end as an extra.

I think anyone interested in this would enjoy it just as much during the process as they would at the end. After all, they should probably want to know more about how I do things, maybe to learn or implement it into their own workflow. And sometimes, to find alternative versions.
Today we’ll focus on the ⚽World Cup Special ⚽🏆 featuring Teieri Anri, from Blue Lock. Epecifically illustration 2, the goal of Chigiri, my personal favorite.

Honestly, making these previews has become a bit harder lately because my process has changed. It’s now more direct and destructive, meaning fewer layers from previous steps are left behind.
Changed the method to sketch, the brush I’ve being using.

In the previous GIF, I’m showing the process in broad strokes, like, 3d, sketch, sky, backgrounds, characters, effects, texts.
But even within the ‘Characters’ stage, it’s not that straightforward. Here, I’m isolating Anri, and you can see a deeper breakdown: lineart, flat colors, blush, clothing, shadows, highlights, a transparency effect for the wet clothes, a second layer of shadows, and fluids.
Lastly, if you made it this far, here are all the illustrations without text.
