DEVELOPMENT BLOG | ENTRY #9 | TSUNADE

19/02/2026

Hey guys,
This project has taken way longer than I expected😓

One of those projects where you just keep drawing and drawing and drawing and it never seems to end.

I will start with given you something different I did for this project: an illustrated script in PDF format for those who enjoy reading. And another layer of the creative process.

And I think I’ll end up getting reflective in this WIP. But first, I’ll share the creation process for the first three pages of the comic.

When I say I’ll get a little reflective, it’s because I’m a big fan of progress and learning. Over time, I’ve become more demanding of myself and the quality of my work.

Tsunade isn’t the first Naruto project we’ve done for GiantesGirlComics.

We also did Hinata, and I started comparing them. Look at the evolution of our work over time. The commitment to making better drawings, improving skin tones, adding highlights, sweat, etc

Each of these things takes time, and I’ve talked about reducing these details to finish projects faster. But in the end, that very perfectionism and desire to do the best possible work betrays me.

I need to change my mindset, and that’s what I have to do next, no matter what. It’s going to have a style more similar to the original work we did when we started Giantessgirlcomics. A return to basics.

I remember being able to finish 5-6 page comics a week. The Korra one, the Android 18 one, etc.

But that was it, a simpler coloring style.

In fact, Mandy was a good attempt at this, but I fall back into this tendency to overload the text and not know how to summarize. But I’ll work with these images constantly to understand the stylistic goal.

Mandy is Bragging about her new gifts but none of them are at her level. So Clover give her a present.

So, I’m telling you that the next step will be a return to our roots with touches of improvements to the drawings I’ve been able to refine in this time.

And the challenge is almost psychological: not to go overboard and try to add too much.

Anyway, wish me luck, and I hope you like the result of that new project.

As well as the result of this one of Tsunade, which took me a good number of hours. And I’m happy with the final work. Thanks, MIKEOCBURNS, for suggesting Tsunade; I love this character.

But her evolution may not be over yet. The poll will decide whether we continue with another set of Tsunade images or move on to another character.

Have a good time, guys.

Damn, I thought it’d be interesting to update this blog while uploading the latest pages. I’ll keep it brief.

The truth is, I completely lost my way. Read the first preview of this comic, what I was trying to do, and then look at the pages I made for the second part.

There’s a part of my brain that’s just incapable of telling me ‘keep it simple’—I always go for the best I can do. I don’t know whether to apologize for that attitude or not. Because the truth is, I give it my all when making these pages. And apparently, I don’t want to stop.

Here’s one of my favorite pages and its process.

But you know what? I had a blast painting these pages and tried out new tricks and things that I want to master and use more often. I think they turned out great and I’m happy with them. I hope you guys enjoy them too.
